Our history

The passion for engineering is at our core. Since 1995, we have existed to be the best path between the idealization and implementation of industrial and corporate projects. To this end, we offer intelligent and customized solutions, working throughout the entire project implementation cycle, from technical and financial studies for maturity and feasibility assessments to planning and executive management of projects.

Encouraging innovation and knowledge management is part of our DNA. We invest in training and ongoing education to tirelessly seek improvements in our processes and services. We are guided by the certainty that it is always possible to do more and better.

With approximately 250 employees, our technical staff includes engineers who are members of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and have Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, and we also have over 40 years of experience of our directors and founders in executing various types of projects.

Ilso José de Oliveira
Chairman of the Board of Directors

A graduate in civil engineering from the Escola de Engenharia do Triângulo Mineiro (EETM), Ilso worked as a superintendent of implementation of large-scale industrial projects for 18 years. Founder of Reta Engenharia, he was the CEO of the company for 26 years and is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

He has a postgraduate degree in Marketing Administration from Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC), an MBA in Engineering Business Management from the Instituto Brasileiro de Mercado de Capitais (IBMEC) and a degree in Board of Directors from Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC).

He is a member of the COMIN - Thematic Mining Council of the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) and holds the position of vice-president of the Industrial and Corporate Works area of the Brazilian Chamber of the Construction Industry (CBIC), also presiding over the Industrial and Corporate Works Commission of CBIC and the Chamber of Industrial Works of the Federation of Industries of Minas Gerais State (FIEMG).

Carlos Domingos Batista
Member of the Board of Directors

A graduate in civil engineering from the Fundação Mineira de Educação e Cultura (FUMEC), Batista is the co-founder of Reta Engenharia. He has worked at the company since its founding and is currently a member of the Board of Directors.

Certified as a PMP – Professional Project Management in 2009 by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and graduated from the Board Development Program by Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC), he worked as CEO of a real estate development company for 7 years.

He has expertise in people and team management and training, real estate development, execution of civil works, planning and costing of multidisciplinary projects and civil works.

João Augusto Saade
Member of the Board of Directors

A graduate in civil engineering from Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (UFES) in 1977, with a postgraduate degree in Quality and Productivity in Civil Construction from the Fundação Mineira de Educação e Cultura (FUMEC) and a specialization in Advanced Negotiation and Total Quality Management in Services from the Fundação Christiano Ottoni, Saade joined Reta Engenharia in 1998 and is currently a member of the Board of Directors.

Throughout his career, the engineer has been responsible for coordinating feasibility studies for various projects, managing and supervising the preparation of projects and works in the mining, energy, logistics, commercial and industrial sectors.

Marcus Cassini
CEO

A graduate in civil engineering from Fundação Mineira de Educação e Cultura (FUMEC) and a postgraduate degree in Project Management from the Instituto de Educação Tecnológica (IETEC), an Executive MBA from Fundação Dom Cabral and a PMP (Project Management Professional) certified by the PMI (Project Management Institute), Marcus is a professional with over 20 years of expertise in managing large-scale and highly complex industrial and corporate projects, leading multidisciplinary teams.

He has experience in strategic business implementation and management and has always worked in a results-oriented manner, but based on the principles of good ethics, health and integrity of people, technical safety of projects and a focus on aligning the objectives of all stakeholders (clients, employees, suppliers and society).

He is currently CEO and member of the Board of Directors of Reta Engenharia.

Henrique César R. de Alvarenga
Director of Corporate Management

Graduated in Civil Engineering in 1995 from the School of Engineering of the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) and with a postgraduate degree in Project Management from the Instituto de Educação Tecnológica (IETEC), Henrique has worked since 1992 in the Development and Implementation phases of Industrial Projects, Infrastructure Projects and Corporate Projects.

The engineer has worked at Reta Engenharia since 2000, where he developed most of his career, being Superintendent of Project Implementation from July 2018, Director of Engineering and Projects from January 2022 and Director of Corporate Management from August 2024.

Thiago Gomes de Melo
Director of Business and Operations

Graduated in Production Engineering in 2008 from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), postgraduate in Project Management from Instituto de Educação Tecnológica (IETEC) and Executive MBA from Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC), Thiago has solid experience as a planning manager for large-scale industrial works, having also worked in the area of acquisitions and control at Reta Engenharia, where he is currently Director of Business and Operations and member of the Board of Directors.

Henrique Abib Saade
Administrative-Financial Superintendent

With a degree in Law from the Fundação Mineira de Educação e Cultura (FUMEC), a postgraduate degree in Business Management from the Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC) and in Corporate Finance from the Instituto Brasileiro de Mercado de Capitais (IBMEC), and an Executive MBA from Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC), Abib has solid experience in the Administrative and Financial areas. The professional began his career at Reta Engenharia in 2008 and has worked as Administrative-Financial Superintendent since July 2018.

Breno Soares de Melo
Engineering Superintendent

A civil engineer graduated from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) and with a postgraduate degree in Project Management from Instituto de Educação Tecnológica (IETEC), Breno has worked for almost 20 years in Construction and Project Management, having participated in highly complex projects in the Mining, Steel, Infrastructure and Energy sectors, both domestically and abroad.

He has expertise in Engineering Management, encompassing the areas of Planning and Budgeting for Heavy Industrial Works, Cost Measurement and Control, Contract Management and Claims. He currently holds the position of Engineering Superintendent at Reta Engenharia.

Henrique Guimarães Gomes
Project Superintendent

Civil engineer graduated from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, postgraduate in Project Management from Instituto de Educação Tecnológica (IETEC), graduated from the Management Development Program at Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC) and certified as a PMP – Professional Project Management – by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Guimarães has worked at Reta Engenharia since 2006, being Manager from July 2010, General Project Manager and Technical Manager from July 2019 and Project Superintendent from January 2023.
