Thiago Gomes de Melo
Executive Business Director

Thiago holds a degree in Production Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), with specializations in Project Management from the Institute of Technological Education (IETEC) and an MBA from Fundação Dom Cabral. He has a solid career spanning over 18 years in the industrial construction sector, managing large-scale industrial projects. He currently serves as Executive Business Director at Reta Engenharia and leads AFRY’s Mining & Metals segment in Brazil.

Breno Soares
Director of Projects and Engineering

A civil engineer graduated from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) with a postgraduate degree in Project Management from the Institute of Technological Education (IETEC), Breno has nearly 20 years of experience in Construction and Project Management. He has taken part in highly complex projects in the Mining, Steelmaking, Infrastructure, and Energy sectors, both in Brazil and abroad. He has expertise in Engineering Management, encompassing areas such as Planning and Budgeting for Heavy Industrial Construction, Cost Measurement and Control, Contract Management, and Claims. He currently serves as Director of Projects and Engineering at Reta Engenharia, now part of AFRY.

Renã Alcantara
Director of Projects and Engineering

A civil engineer graduated from Escola de Engenharia Kennedy and holding a postgraduate degree in Project Management from the Institute of Technological Education (IETEC), Renã is currently the Director of Projects and Engineering at Reta Engenharia, now part of AFRY. He has over 30 years of experience in large-scale industrial construction across various sectors, including Mining, Steelmaking, Cement, Pulp and Paper, Oil, Sanitation, and Infrastructure, managing and leading multidisciplinary teams. In addition to his extensive experience in project implementation, he also has strong skills in preparing CAPEX analyses, feasibility studies, and developing technical and commercial proposals for projects of all sizes.

Henrique Guimarães
Project Director

A civil engineer graduated from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Henrique holds a postgraduate degree in Project Management from the Institute of Technological Education (IETEC), completed the Executive Development Program at Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC), and is certified as a PMP – Project Management Professional – by the Project Management Institute (PMI). He has been with Reta Engenharia since 2006, having served as Manager in 2010, General Project Manager and Technical Lead in 2019, Superintendent of Engineering and Projects from 2023, and now serves as the company’s Project Director.

Antônio Carlos Pereira
Operations Director

A civil engineer graduated from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) with a postgraduate degree in Project Management from the Institute of Technological Education (IETEC). He has been with Reta Engenharia since 2002 and has over 23 years of experience in large-scale construction and highly complex projects in the Mining, Steelmaking, Infrastructure, and Energy sectors across various regions of Brazil. He is a specialist in Engineering Management, with a focus on Planning and Budgeting for Heavy Industrial Construction, Cost Measurement and Control, and Contract Management. He currently serves as Operations Director at Reta Engenharia.

Tulio Duarte Faria
Director of New Business

Graduated in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), with postgraduate degrees in Financial Management and an Executive MBA from Fundação Dom Cabral, as well as certifications in M&A and FP&A from Columbia Business School Executive Education. He is also PMP and CCP certified. With over 15 years of experience in the industrial construction market, covering the Mining, Steelmaking, Infrastructure, Logistics, and Energy sectors, he currently serves as Director of New Business at Reta Engenharia, responsible for the company’s Commercial, New Business, Innovation, and PMO areas.
